It is a precise filtering device specifically designed for filtering molten polymers under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
The melt filter element is a fully metal filter element welded by argon arc welding. It has abandoned the traditional non-metallic filter materials and is made of high-strength metal materials, ensuring its structural stability and safety under extremely harsh working conditions.
The filter materials for melt filters are very diverse. They mainly include domestic or imported stainless steel fiber sintered felts, iron-chromium-aluminum fiber felts, nickel fiber felts, stainless steel meshes, special meshes, as well as stainless steel sintered five-layer meshes and seven-layer meshes and other metal filter materials. In addition, there are also special types such as titanium alloy filter cores made by sintering stainless steel powder.
Resistant to extreme environments, it possesses extremely strong resistance to high temperatures, high pressures and chemical corrosion. Its operating temperature range is typically between -60℃ and 500℃. Some special alloy filter elements can even withstand temperatures as high as 700℃, with a maximum pressure difference of up to 2MPa. It has excellent physical properties, including excellent air permeability, large pollutant capacity, high mechanical strength and good sealing performance. It is environmentally friendly, economical, has a long service life, and can support cleaning and regeneration after clogging, allowing for repeated use, thereby reducing long-term operating costs.

Metal filter elements are made from stainless steel, copper, nickel alloys, etc., in forms such as sintered mesh, powder sintered tubes, and metal fiber felt. They offer high strength, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance.

FAQ
Q: How to select the correct filtration rating?
A: It depends on the smallest clearances of critical system components. General guideline: 3–5 μm for servo valve systems, 10 μm for proportional valve systems, and 10–20 μm for general industrial systems. Overly high rating increases pressure drop, while too low rating fails to protect components.
Q: What are the risks of continuing to operate after the differential pressure alarm triggers?
A: The bypass valve opens, allowing unfiltered oil to enter the system and accelerating pump/valve wear. The element may also collapse under excessive pressure, releasing debris into the oil circuit and causing severe equipment damage.
Q: Is new oil clean enough without pre-filtration?
A: New oil is not necessarily clean oil. Drum oil often contains particles introduced during transport and storage. It should be pre-filtered through a separate unit before filling; otherwise, it will quickly contaminate the new element.
Q: Why does the differential pressure remain high after replacement?
A: Possible causes include: excessively high oil viscosity due to low temperature, the housing vent valve not opened, seal misalignment causing internal bypass, or high free particle load in the system. Check each possibility in order.
