A coalescing-separation system typically consists of two stages of filter elements. The gas or liquid containing droplets first flows through the coalescing filter, where microscopic droplets collide and merge on the media surface into larger droplets that settle and are drained. Subsequently, the fluid enters the separating filter element, which utilizes hydrophobic and oleophilic materials. This allows gas or oil to pass through smoothly while blocking residual droplets, thereby achieving highly efficient secondary separation.
