How to Select the Right Filtration Accuracy for Your Hydraulic System?

Higher filtration accuracy is not always better; it should match the tolerance of sensitive components in the hydraulic system. Common matching guidelines are: for gear pumps and manual valves, use 20–30 micron filter elements (β₂₀≥75); for vane pumps and general industrial valves, use 10–15 micron elements (β₁₀≥100); for piston pumps, proportional valves, and servo valves, use 3–5 micron elements (β₅≥200). Excessively high accuracy increases pressure drop and replacement frequency, while low accuracy fails to protect components effectively.
